About the Presentation

Test Automation – keep the cost under control

We are going to explain how to build a fully automated system in a step-by-step approach in order to ensure that we get instant benefit from our investment.

We define a full automated system as one, which executes test, analyzes the results, gives verdict and stores the report. We achieve benefit from everyday use of the complex system only after we go through the integration of off-the-shelf products, our proprietary solutions and huge libraries of scripts. The journey might take up 5 years or even more. How do we ensure support during this period (both from our colleagues and the management who sponsor the development)?

Our starting point is an environment, where, with test scripts, we can instruct every equipment and we can read out the measurement data and execution result. Then, we stabilize the environment step-by-step, organize the test logs into a structured form, start test execution 24/7, fully automating test result analysis, and store the verdict in the test management system. This environment automatically executes sanity checks and endurance tests in its spare time.
