About the Presentation

A Phantom Menace ... or how ISTQB tackles uprising challenges

With the rising impact of the digital transformation with its aspects like internet of things, big data and mobile solutions, the focus of quality aspects slowly but distinctly changes in the direction of totally different approaches than the well-known functional aspects. State of the art software quality comprises aspects like heterogeneous IT landscapes, components that are smaller but each provided with more own “power to act” and increasing impact of consumer driven requirements.

To tackle those challenges, a skill shift and a complete rethinking of the testers mindset into quality engineering instead of quality assurance is required. This talk discusses the challenges and their impacts as well as the way, ISTQB and other independent associations contribute with standards to provide solutions.
