Péter Illés

National Instruments (HU)
After he gave lectures at the University of Debrecen for 5 years, he joined National Instrument where he started his career as a software tester supporting ERP and CRM systems. Later he was part of a team implementing Test Automation at National Instruments. As test manager he was responsible for many projects involving Oracle E-Business upgrade. As he moved on in his career he become a team lead than a manager of Test Engineers, Business Analysts and Support Specialists. He developed not only testing processes but also recruiting and cooperation methods between different groups within the company. He cofounded the Debrecen Testing Board, disseminates his experience at the University of Debrecen. Currently his main responsibilities are: Develop Quality Strategy, improve and maintain team culture, develop leaders and teams to support main company goals.

About the Presentation

When Web Analytics Meets Test Automation

Web analytics is getting more important in the life of webpages. Companies would like to improve their web sites and make those more usable for the users. The web analytics can be a good way to measure and track the behavior of the users.

In this presentation, the speaker will talk about the importance and the technical background of the web analytics.

The major part of the presentation will cover the testing side of the web analytics form the manual and the automated testing points of view. The manual testing can be time consuming and requires a lots of efforts from the testers because the web analytics usually site-wide. The test automation can be a good solution to make the testers works more effective. The presenter will provide some basic information about the open source solutions and devices of the test automation. Mainly the Selenium, Selenium Web-driver and Python programing language. He will introduce an automated test script which flexible and can be reusable during the regression test and the site wide testing as well.
