Dr. Árpád Beszédes (MSc, PhD, CTFL, CTAL Full, AT, IREB CPRE), assistant professor, deputy head of Software Engineering Department, University of Szeged. Research areas: software quality, program analysis, testing. He has 50 publications and serves different roles in international software engineering conferences. He is a founding member and the director of accreditation of the Hungarian Testing Board, and is member of the Academia Committee of ISTQB.

Professional testers and researchers attend different kinds of testing conferences; and there is a substantial separation between "industrial" and "academic" ones.
