Robert V. Binder is a high-assurance thought leader, serial entrepreneur, and system architect with over 35 years of systems engineering experience. His technical specialties include model-based testing and software process. Recently he has joined Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute as a member of the technical staff. He is the author of two books and many articles in peer-reviewed journals and practitioner publications. He serves as Co-chair of the X9 D14 working group drafting a Quality Management standard for automated trading and as a member of IEEE working group drafting IEEE 1633, Recommended Practice for Software Reliability Engineering. He received the MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and the BA and MBA from the University of Chicago. He is an IEEE Senior Member, ACM member, and holds the CSDP.
Agile methodologies like the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) extend basic Agile practices to address the unique challenges of systems engineering in large and complex products. However, these methodologies do not offer comparable improvements for verification, validation, and testing. This talk provides an overview of the Agile High Assurance (AHA) methodology to achieve high levels of all quality aspects in large-scale Agile processes.
