Quality is no longer just a checkpoint or a department – it’s a mindset, deeply embedded into the DNA of high-performance teams.In this talk, we’ll briefly explore the evolution of quality in software development: from traditional testing approaches to the rise of quality engineering, culminating in today’s broader, integrated vision of quality as a shared team responsibility. We’ll also examine what skills are truly essential for “testers” today. What are the three most critical aspects that enable quality to drive team flow – and, more importantly, how can we achieve them?We’ll dive into practical insights and best practices that show how software quality can “come alive” in your projects and teams. From the lessons of my work with high-performing teams to the strategic use of modern tools and AI, this session will provide actionable steps to cultivate a quality-first attitude.
Biography
Richard “Richie” Seidl is a Software Testing Expert, Agile Quality Coach, and Podcast Host. Over the past 25 years, he has encountered a vast array of software throughout his professional journey: from the good to the bad, the large to the small, the new to the old. He’s experienced software so magnificent it could bring one to tears, and others that make one cringe.
Richie has helped teams and projects in various industries, such as administration, finance, automotive, and logistics, to improve their software quality, implement agile testing, and establish test automation.
For Richie, one thing is clear: crafting exceptional software today requires a holistic view of the development process – integrating people, context, methods, and tools. Only when these elements work together harmoniously can a mindset emerge that unlocks potential and fosters innovation.
